The Big Scare-Share and Support Circle
January 20, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Changes big or small in life can be scary. If you are finding yourself uncertain or ungrounded by a change that you are hoping, needing, or are in the transition portion of making then this group is for you. Join this group of fellow “move-makers” as we step deeper into our forward moving journeys. Any change that you are in the process of, or even just thinking about making, is up for the sharing.
The group will start with a short visualization meditation to help us get in touch with our choice, because with change there is always a choice. We will then each spend about 10 minutes journaling about our experience of having that visualization and the thoughts we have surrounding it. Following the journaling, everyone will be allowed the opportunity to share the experience and any insights surrounding the visualization or journaling process. The benefit of this is to provide a safe space for each person to be vulnerable about their dreams, ambitions, and self-care intentions and be heard in an open and non-judgemental way. Sharing is highly encouraged to get the most benefit out of the group, but isn’t required for attendance. You can till get some benefit just by showing up!
After each person has shared with the group, we will then explore a couple quick (and sometimes funny) short exercises that will help you to continue to move forward when difficult or “trickster” thoughts show up. We all have had those thoughts. The scared ones, the rude ones,
the “should” and “shouldn’t” and “you can’t do that” ones, you know the ones. While there is no magic pill to make these thoughts instantly disappear, there are a couple of ways to experience having those thoughts occur without having them influence how you move about your day. And sometimes, with time and experience, the thoughts begin to occur less and less in our lives as we prove them wrong. I hope you will come join this group and receive the support you need to move forward.
Please bring a pen and notepad for the journaling portion of the group.
Suggested sliding scale for this course is $10 – $20, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

“I have completed over a decade of study in mindfulness-based coaching techniques and received my Masters degree from a mindfulness-based program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I use these tools along with other meditative and artistic methods to work as a life-
coach and group facilitator. My goal is to provide affordable services to help empower those who struggle or feel “stuck” in areas of their life to move forward in a more authentic way. The final goal is the realization that we can all reach our highest potential and lead purposeful and joyous life.”
