It is the first full moon of 2025, and we need the protective powers of reflective mirrors now. There are many times and kinds of mirrors. The reflections seen in mirrors have fascinated humans for at least two hundred thousand years. From the still pool of water to amber, to polished obsidian, various found natural materials have served as portals to the other world, as well as protective reflectors. Polished copper, gold and then bronze were developed thousands of years later. Often called a looking glass, ancient romans ascribed many mystical properties to a sheet of glass backed by lead silver.

Recognition of self reflection is a concept that defines a level of cognition in animals (nine other than human person species). Scrying is a process of going into trance while looking into a reflected image. This may be one of the oldest forms of divination.

In our spirit of mirror circle we will contemplate with various mirrors during a drum journey to find what is important for the moment and going forward.
