This spring season is one of new birth and blooming. This weekend conjures images of Rabbits/Hares bringing eggs. On this night we honor Hare, and all their gifts. We ask them to help us in the ways they most especially can.

Hares are classified in the same family as rabbits. They are similar in size and form to rabbits and have similar herbivorous diets, but generally have longer ears and live solitarily or in pairs. Also unlike rabbits, their young are able to fend for themselves shortly after birth rather than emerging blind and helpless. Hare species are native to Africa, Eurasia, North America, and the Japanese archipelago. The Hare in African folk tales is a trickster. In Irish folklore, the hare is often associated with Sidh (Fairy). In these stories, characters who harm hares often suffer dreadful consequences. The hare is commonly associated with the Anglo-Saxon goddess Ēostre (where “Easter” comes from), hence our ceremony this evening. Our ancestors have lived with Hares for thousands of years. It is time for a conscious reconnection.

The Hare Goddess has asked us to gather for a ceremony of release and renewal. We call upon the archetypal Hare to take Fear and Timidity from our ancestral lines, and we ask for them to share their quick thinking, heightened awareness and prolific Nature with our Animist hearts.

We gather together in our Healing Lodge in the backyard to call upon our Spirit Allies to help us clear, release, and heal in the moment, so we are stronger for this world. Let the Hare Goddess take what is burdening you and feed it to the Earth.

An old Hare once told Quynn in a journey that Animist people are like Rabbit/Hares. There are many, and while one or another might be “taken out” (his words for being killed), the energy of Rabbit (animism/shamanism) can never all be taken out. We are prolific and many. So, have no fear. :)

This is an Ascension Healing event (raising us up out of the muck) hosted by Web of Life-Intuitive Shamanic Animists. Quynn and Elisabeth (in full costume) are called to channel the energies of the archetypal Hare to be of service to YOU in these challenging times. Through Animist Seance (calling upon the Spirits of our helpful Lepus allies) we bring forth Enrapturing Storytelling, Spirit World Travel, Sacred “Costume”, Drumming and Healing Trance so that the Spring Hare Goddess can help us to release what is ready to be released so we can feel reconnected and more centered for the days to come.
