Sacred Story Sharing Circle for Womxn of Color w/ Gisela and Desiree
December 17 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This is an online circle.
As womxn of color, we navigate a complex landscape of privilege, power, and oppression — sometimes even within ourselves. In this circle, we seek to co-create a safe space for everyone’s story as a non-white womxn — to explore the complexities of that experience together and to hold each other in compassion as we do so.
We will lovingly delve into the legacy of colonialism in our lives, the path back to our intuition and our ancestors, and the ways in which we can embody and embrace our own indigenous resilience. This is not a space for writers or storytellers only – it is a space for all who seek to heal some of the stories they’ve carried, while witnessed and held. If you’re seeking a non-white space in which to craft new, more empowering narratives, please join your hosts Gisela and Desiree for this sacred story sharing circle.
Gisela is a queer Latina/Middle Eastern writer, storyteller and animist spiritual guide. Desiree is an Afro-Latina yoga instructor, intuitive healer and changemaker. Together they seek to hold space for BIWOC (Black, Indigenous, and Womxn of Color) to access their own innate power and resilience. All self-identifying BIWOC (including mixed and biracial womxn*) are welcome to this online gathering.
*Womxn: A definition of women that explicitly includes not only cis-gendered women, but also trans women, femme/feminine-identifying genderqueer and non-binary people.
Requested sliding scale donation of $0 to $20. If you are working or have income, thank you for your donation.
