The Big Scare Share And Support Group
March 5, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Changes in life, big or small, can be scary. If you are finding yourself uncertain or ungrounded by a change then this group is for you. Join this group of fellow “move-makers” as we step deeper into our forward moving journeys. Any change that you are in the process of, or even just thinking about making, is up for the sharing.
The group will start with a short visualization meditation to help us get in touch with our choice followed by a short journaling about our experience. Everyone will be allowed the opportunity to share their experience and any insights surrounding the visualization or journaling process.
The benefit of this is to provide a safe space for each person to be vulnerable about their dreams, ambitions, and self-care intentions and be heard in an open and non-judgmental way. Sharing is encouraged to get the most benefit out of the group, but isn’t required for attendance. You can till get some benefit just by showing up!
At the end we will then explore a ways that will help you to continue to move forward when difficult or “trickster” thoughts show up. We all have had those thoughts. The scared ones, the rude ones,
the “should” and “shouldn’t” and “you can’t do that” ones.
While there is no magic pill to make these thoughts instantly disappear, there are a couple of ways to experience having those thoughts occur without having them influence how you move about your day. It is the goal that with time and experience, the thoughts begin to take less control over the actions we have in our lives. I hope you will come join this group and receive the support you need to move forward.
Please bring a pen and notepad for the journaling portion of the group.
Suggested sliding scale for this course is $10 – $20.
Jillian Jacobelli is a fellow “move-maker” recently resettled from Moab, Utah. “I have completed over a decade of study in mindfulness-based coaching techniques and received my Masters degree from a mindfulness-based program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I use these tools along with other meditative, intuitive, and artistic methods to provide affordable services to help empower people to move forward. The final goal is the realization that we can all reach our highest potential and lead purposeful and joyous life.”
