Identifying Your Values Collage Circle

February 17, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This group’s intention is to provide a safe and creative space for us to realign with what matters most in our lives! Values are different than goals in that they provide direction for how our lives move, without ever providing us with a final destination. They are fluid in nature and change over the course of our lives and personal growth. Sometimes when we feel “stuck” somewhere it’s simply because our values changed without us noticing. This group aims to get us back in touch with our inner-self and what matters most to us at this time.

The group starts with a fun values card sort, where each individual sorts through a set of cards that list values and ranks their top three. We then look through a stack of magazines and search for photos or words that match our chosen values. We cut them out and then paste them onto a small 8X10 piece of construction paper to take home with us as a reminder of what our values are. We will save space at the very end for anyone willing to share a bit about what their chosen values are and any plans they might have to move towards them in their day-to-day life.

I provide construction paper, scissors, a small stack of magazines, and glue sticks.

I do ask that participants bring two old magazines or other “glueable” crafty materials they don’t mind sharing and tearing up with other members of the group. This allows for a greater variety of choices in our creative expressions.

Suggested sliding scale for this circle is $10 – $20, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

Jillian Jacobelli is a fellow “move-maker” recently resettled from Moab, Utah.

I have completed over a decade of study in mindfulness-based coaching techniques and received my Masters degree from a mindfulness-based program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I use these tools along with other meditative and artistic methods to work as a life-coach and group facilitator. My goal is to provide affordable services to help empower those who struggle or feel “stuck” in areas of their life to move forward in a more authentic way. The final goal is the realization that we can all reach our highest potential and lead purposeful and joyous lives.
