Vulture Culture-Archeomythology Explorations Online and in Tucson

October 28, 2018 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

10,000 years ago in southeastern Turkey, humans created the first town Catal Huyuk. This small group of interconnected adobe buildings that were entered through the roof by ladders left a spiritual legacy of wall paintings. These paintings highlighted Vulture in meaningful association that can be appreciated by contemporary Animists.

Jacob will share some ways that Vulture was important to ancient Peoples, and then there will be a drum journey to connect with Vulture Power.

We have a pair of Vulture wings gathered from the highway, used ritually, and are now ready to return to the Earth. Sometime in the near future an altar for Vulture will be created at the Nature Sanctuary, beneath a rocky cliff were vultures roost and the wings will be buried.

Hosted by Jacob, our labyrinth maker and archeomythologist.

Offered for donations of $5-$10. Offer what you can. Thank you.
