Healing the Old Spirit of Crisis

This workshop was recorded on September 11, 2013.  Every year, since 2001, this day comes and brings with it many thoughtful and challenging feelings and memories.  Now, 12 years  since that day, it feels that there is much to learn about the Spirit of Crisis.

A “crisis” is described in Wikipedia as “any event that is, or is expected to lead to, an unstable and dangerous situation affecting an individual, group, community, or whole society. Crises are deemed to be negative changes in the security, economic, political, societal, or environmental affairs, especially when they occur abruptly, with little or no warning. More loosely, it is a term meaning ‘a testing time’ or an ’emergency event’.”   These events happen in every person’s life, and throughout human history.  The details of the trauma may change, but the feelings have often been the same.  Crisis brings anxiety, anger, fear, depression, hypervigilance, and so many others.  Crisis can bring PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) to our doorstep.  If we are not able to process the trauma that we experience, then PTSD tends to move in.

Shamanically speaking, what happens when the Soul experiences Crisis over and over?  How is Crisis passed on through the generations? Is it time to clear trauma from past crises that devastated our ancestors? Famine, displacement, war, hostile takeover, torture, hiding.   Death, sickness, loss, devastation.  These things happen over and over, it seems to be part of the human experience, and yet we are ready to begin to heal old Soul Wounds and retrieve Soul Parts lost during past Crises.  It is very difficult to even think about “healing” from a recent crisis. The wounds are still too fresh.  Healing takes time. This workshop focuses on old Soul Wounds that remain from long ago Crisis, both personal and ancestral.

You can find the mp3 workshop HERE>  It consists of an introduction, two shamanic journeys (drummed and guided by Quynn Red Mountain) and then a guided meditation.

May you, and yours, find peace today and every day.
